ABSTRACT

This paper examines the unspoken in Al-Wahrani's dreams and tales, through examining models of personalities of his time, the subject of these dreams and tales. The paper does not focus on all the characters, but rather focuses on specific models - the elite - that embody political, cultural, and religious authority. So, the paper examines Al-Wahrani, Ayyubid period and new models of writing, and then focuses on Al-Wahrani, the canon literature and personality in Al-Wahrani writings. The paper concluded several results, the most important of which were: Al-Wahrani did not write history to these personalities, but rather dealt with the other side of them from his own point of view in a manner different from the canon literature; as he chose a new way in writing, which he selected consciously, where he realizes that this way was the most capable of expressing his vision of society and humanity, the changes happened in his time in a satirical manner about literature types such as dreams, letters and maqamat, and thus his writings predate the so-called Republic of Letters
