ABSTRACT
Information and Communication Technologies are currently one of the greatest inputs to improve pedagogical processes, especially in times when our society is currently seen by some scholars as the “era of the knowledge society”, where the field of education is benefited. Thus, the present research aims to “design a teaching method with the help of ICT in order to train mathematics teachers in the subject of fractions for the fourth, fifth and sixth grades of two Educational Institutions in the municipality of Soacha, Colombia. The study is carried out through a quantitative approach methodology and pre-experimental design, made up of a control group and an experimental group; using as an instrument the survey applied before and after implementing the teacher training method proposed in the research. The main results obtained reflect that more than 20% of the teachers who used the fractional teaching method with the help of ICT, improved their academic processes and agreed to continue using these pedagogical aid tools in the classroom work. As a main conclusion, it can be mentioned that the teaching of mathematics and mainly the subject of fractions with the use of methods that contain pedagogical strategies based on the use of ICTs have a positive impact on student learning.
