ABSTRACT
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most significant technological shifts that has occurred in the 21st century, particularly in the social and educational environments. Although its analytical and predictive function presents unprecedented potentialities of development, its integration creates serious ethical and normative dilemmas in the sphere of the protection of human rights. The study critically examines the conflict between artificial intelligence and human dignity, particularly in terms of the potential to leverage the advantages AI can offer while respecting human dignity and fundamental rights. This analysis is carried out in an interdisciplinary manner, in which also bioethics, pedagogy and social justice considerations are taken into account. It has to vie with the perceived neutrality of technology and explore the dangers of automated systems that can produce new ways of exclusion or diminish the individual as a social subject. It also underscores the rise of AI in decision-making within education and society, and the ethical considerations, transparency, and accountability required in the creation and application of intelligent systems. The research culminates in the proposal of a set of ethical criteria meant to regulate the implementation of technology, forbidding its summoning as a tool for the reproduction of inequalities and necessarily respecting the autonomy, equality and intrinsic value of human beings.
