ABSTRACT

This study analyzes opinion discourse in Lebanese electronic newspapers, focusing on structural and thematic features, editorial attention to political crises, and the media frames and persuasive strategies used in coverage. It also examines the relationship between these elements and editorial orientations. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the study applies content analysis to 156 opinion articles from Al-Akhbar, An-Nahar, and Al-Joumhouria (2020–2023)ز Findings show that opinion discourse reflects political and editorial positions rather than neutrality, with variations in crisis coverage and framing across newspapers. Finally, The study concludes that media coverage is closely linked to political contexts and recommends strengthening balanced reporting and professional standards.
